Huhtahalli
Huhtahalli

Huhtahalli is Finland's largest indoor ball sports hall. It was completed in February 2025 and serves as the tournament's main venue.

Address: Kangasvuorentie 18, 40340 Jyväskylä, Finland

The tournament follows standard football rules with the following clarifications:

  • Squad size and eligibility: There is no limit on squad size. Players must be born on or after January 1, 2009.
  • Overage players: A team may field at most two overage (born 2008) players.
  • Kits: If kits are too similar, the away team changes shirts. The goalkeeper's kit must be clearly distinguishable from the others.
  • Arrival on the pitch: Teams must be ready at least 5 minutes before kickoff.
  • Referees: 3 referees from the Central Finland Referee Club officiate each match.
  • Match rules:
    • Format: 11v11
    • Group stage: 1 x 40 min. Placement matches: 1 x 50 min.
    • Offside rule applies.
    • Flying substitutions. Substitutions are made at the technical area; the incoming player may enter the pitch only after the outgoing player has left it.
  • Tournament format:
    • 8 teams, 4 games each (1 on Friday, 2 on Saturday, 1 on Sunday).
      • Group stage: two groups of four teams, single round-robin.
      • Placement matches: played based on group stage standings, e.g. A1–B1, A2–B2, etc.
    • In the event of a tie, placement matches are decided by a penalty shoot-out (3 kicks per team, then sudden-death pairs, with all players taking a kick before a second round).
  • Group stage ties are resolved by:
    1. Points from head-to-head matches
    2. Goal difference from head-to-head matches
    3. Goals scored in head-to-head matches
    4. Goal difference across the whole group
    5. Goals scored across the whole group
    6. Draw of lots
  • Disciplinary sanctions: Yellow and red cards are in use. A direct red card, or two yellow cards in the same match, means the team continues a player short. The player may play in the next match unless the jury imposes an additional suspension. Single yellow cards do not carry over between matches.
  • Awards: The top three teams are awarded trophies. The tournament's best player, top scorer and best goalkeeper are also awarded.

These rules ensure clarity, fair play and a consistent level of competition.
